La Mer

Part of DCIMdump, a series of photos that were hanging around my SD card that I decided to share on here.
It was motivated by

1 of 2 paintings I made for a client, a lady that owns a pension in Germany around Hanover.
The colours of the paintings were supposed to fit the colours of the walls of the rooms they were to be displayed in.
Of the original 5 70x50cm paintings intended, only 2 were ordered in the end.

La Mer ("The Sea") is a painting influenced by, well, the French sea and the beach. By childhood memories also. It was tweaked at the client's request, this is the final version (it has a bit more blue).
It was also inspired by the Art of Matisse, Rothko & Klee.
I'm really happy with the outcome
